Young has been teaching in theArchitectural Building Engineering泭啦梗釵堯紳棗梭棗眶聆department since July, 1997. Henry has served on a variety of college-wide committees, most recently, the Presidents Academic Advisory Council, the NEASC Self-Study Organization and Governance Subcommittee (Chair), and on the Tech Scholars Selection Committee.
Prior to teaching at New England Tech, Henry was an officer in the United States Navy and later in the Navy Reserve Civil Engineering Corps. He commanded a 250 person construction-based organization and was Project Manager for infrastructure rehabilitation/construction work on U.S. military installations.
With the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, Henry held positions as Project Engineer and Special Assistant to the State Director of Transportation, where he worked on intermodal transportation projects, bridge rehabilitation programs, and freight railroad improvement projects. He was also a management consultant for the firm KPMGPeat Marwick.
Also, congratulations to Henry for recently completing an EdD in Higher Education Administration at Northeastern University. Henrys dissertation entitled Authentic Learning at Technical College, is a qualitative case study which examines the use of authentic learning pedagogy at Technical College (New England Techs pseudonym for the study). He also has a Master of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech, both in Civil Engineering. Henry has attained LEED Accredited Professional status from the U.S. Green Building Council.
