Cobb Salad – Bob Cobb the owner of Brown Derby created this salad in 1937. One night he opened his fridge, put all the ingredients that he has in, and he made Cobb salad. Tomorrow he put it on his salad bar menu.
4 million Cobb salads have been sold since that night.
Here in Broad street café salad bar we are making it a little bit different from the original recipe.
In our salad goes:
It is a very interesting story how blue cheese has been invented, it can be made from cow’s, goat’s and sheep’s milk. It was by accident because a men left a loaf of bread in moist cheese caves.
When he returned back he saw that the mold covering the bread had transformed into a blue cheese.
Bacon-the most popular use of bacon is with egg for breakfast and in BLT sandwich (bacon, lettuce, tomato-BLT). But you should try in this salad.
Eggs-contain protein.
Egg yolks are a good source of Vitamin D.
US eggs would be illegal in British supermarket because they are washed.
